our approach
Automotive SEO is one of the most competitive and complex industries. When we started analysing the client’s website in June, we identified several areas for improvement.
We addressed frequent technical issues such as broken links (4xx errors), broken images, excessive H1 tags, page speed problems, and issues with robots.txt and sitemaps.
Additionally, we uncovered hidden external links placed by their previous SEO agency that were pointing to their other websites(!). We immediately deleted them, so the site could retain its domain authority, and fixed all technical issues.
Upon analysing the backlink profile, we discovered toxic links that needed to be disavowed on Google Search Console. We then made a plan to tackle the thin content pages, expanding those that could provide value, deleting those that couldn’t, and merging content with the same search intent.
We then developed a new content strategy focused on both branded and non-branded keywords. Keyword research revealed consistent searches for queries related to specific car makes as well as general topics about electric, petrol, and hybrid cars and purchasing advice. A regular content plan was set in motion, with all content nicely interlinked.
