How To Write SEO Friendly Content

Our experts enhance your site's visibility with engaging SEO content.

Recently, we shared some key content SEO guidelines with one of our clients to help their copywriters. We believe these tips could benefit you as well, whether you’re part of a team or writing your own content.

The importance of writing content

Creating valuable and informative content is crucial for Google. It demonstrates that the website consistently provides fresh information. And of course, your customers will benefit from useful content too, and Google can gauge their appreciation through metrics like time spent on the page and the number of pages viewed.

As web users ourselves, we understand the joy of regularly discovering great content on a beloved website. Your visitors will feel the same. The frequency of your updates is up to you—whether it’s posting an article weekly, sending a newsletter on a specific day, or sharing content less often—it’s good to create a pattern.

Whatever schedule you choose, aim to consistently provide new content to your audience. This will create an expectation and anticipation for your updates. Wouldn’t it be wonderful having people waiting for your content to arrive?

Always struggling with time? It’s time to outsource your content writing

It’s common for business owners to struggle with finding time to write their own content, and many don’t enjoy writing. Focusing on their own skills and strengths for their business is a much better use of their time.

However, it’s crucial not to neglect this vital aspect of your website’s SEO. If you can’t or prefer not to invest time in writing blog posts for your website, consider outsourcing this task to a professional content creation expert.

We specialise in creating engaging, SEO-optimised content tailored to your specific needs, ensuring that your website remains dynamic and attracts the right audience. By outsourcing your content creation to Pink SEO, you can focus on what you do best—running your business—while we take care of enhancing your online presence.

Our SEO strategy checklist when our clients are have their own in-house copywriters

While we do offer content creation as an integral part of our SEO services, some clients have their own in-house content and marketing teams. In such cases, we are often asked to train these teams and collaborate with their copywriters.

Some of them are familiar with SEO plugins like Yoast for WordPress. In such cases, we:

  • Research, strategically choose, and provide the content team with focused, related, and long-tail keywords for each post and page.
  • Explain and ensure they follow the most important content SEO best practices, as outlined below.
  • Double-check the content before tracking the position of the targeted page for the selected keywords or key phrases.

Every skilled content creator dislikes writing “solely SEO-based web content,” and that’s beneficial because it doesn’t help with conversion.

Ask yourself: What is your true aim? What’s the point of getting more traffic if the increased number of visitors quickly bounces off, put off by artificial, SEO-stuffed content?

Best practices when writing content
  • Use a Focused Keyword: Include it in key points such as the title, subheaders, URL, meta description, image alt text, and throughout the content.
  • Use Semantically Related Keywords: Appropriately integrate related keywords within the content.
  • Content Length: Ensure the copy is ideally no shorter than 600-800 words, aiming for 1,000 or more. The ideal length depends on the topic and the pages currently ranking in the top 10 positions on Google.
  • Include a Call-to-Action: Encourage the reader to take the most relevant and useful next step on your site.
  • Add Internal Links: Connect to other posts and pages that naturally and logically relate to each piece of content.
  • Include External Links: Link to reliable, non-competitive sources for readers interested in learning more.
  • Embed Videos: When possible, include videos from reliable, non-competitive sources.
