Teddington Carpet Centre teamed up with PinkSEO to leverage the advantages of our local shop SEO expertise, leading to a 7417% increase in ranking keywords. Their loyal and friendly team possesses unrivalled experience in the flooring trade, and their long-standing customers are equally devoted. Many customers are now on a first-name basis with the team, appreciating the high level of service provided.

To mark their 60th anniversary, they launched a new B2C and B2B website designed by Vinegar Creative. It was a natural progression to optimise the website for local keywords, aiming to attract even more customers in need of wood, laminate, vinyl flooring, rugs, and carpets in West London and beyond.

We analysed the domain https://www.teddingtoncarpets.co.uk/ and noticed that in its  over 10 years of existence, it had developed some domain authority. 

Domain Authority (DA) is a score developed by SEO tools to predict how well a website will rank on search engine result pages (SERPs). It ranges from 1 to 100, with higher scores indicating a greater ability to rank. While not a direct ranking factor used by Google, a site with a high DA generally has many quality backlinks and established credibility, both of which help in search engine optimisation (SEO). Essentially, it reflects the strength and trustworthiness of a domain, making it easier for the site to rank for competitive keywords.

The new site was built on Squarespace at the client’s request.

As soon as it was launched, we conducted scans to identify and fix SEO errors.

We analysed the site’s original content and researched the most appropriate keywords to rank for each piece for. We then optimised the content accordingly.

We ensured the site remained in top technical SEO shape and continuously produced new content to address “content gaps”—queries and keywords they want to be found for but lack existing content.

We initiated a “60 Years of Flooring” blog series, enhancing local SEO by targeting new local keywords through articles on the various brands they offer.

TOTAL KEYWORDS INCREASE

After just 5 months of collaboration (November-April), the Teddington Carpet Centre website achieved significant improvements in search engine rankings. Initially, the site appeared on the first page of Google for only one keyword. 

By April, it had climbed to the first page for six keywords and ranked for a total of 290 keywords, compared to just 17 when we began.

In November, the keywords Teddington Carpet Centre ranked for were primarily their brand name and its variations (branded keywords), with the Home page being the main page ranking. 

Also, the site had improved dramatically, ranking on the first page of Google for highly relevant, geolocalised keywords that attract targeted traffic from potential customers. These keywords included:

  • Rug shop west London
  • Laminate flooring west London
  • Wood flooring west London
  • Vinyl flooring west London

By February, after 15 months, the website ranked for 506 keywords, with 7 of those keywords securing positions in the top 5. This significant improvement demonstrates the effectiveness of our SEO strategy in driving targeted traffic and increasing the site’s visibility to the right type of customers.

The final report in November, after two successful years of working together, showed the website ranked for 1,278 keywords—an outstanding 7,417% increase. 

With 24 keywords securing positions in the top 5, compared to just 17 when we started. This is an amazing testament to the effectiveness of our SEO strategy and the collaborative effort that has driven such remarkable growth.
